Crushing & Mining Equipment Pty Ltd - 17m Apron Feeders - Pilbara, AUS

Rocktec designed and built four 17m long Apron Feeders for Crushing & Mining Equipment Pty Ltd. This was part of the Cloud Break Mine ROM ore handling system for Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. Located in the Pilbara region, Australia

Overview

  • Four Required
  • 17m Long
  • 1200mm Wide Pans
  • 2500 tph Feed Rate
  • D4 Chain

The four Apron Feeders are 17m long at terminal centres and 1200mm wide. With D4 Chain and roller running gear and an installed power of 75kW. Their capacity is over 2500 tph.

They were designed for severe material weight, impact and abrasion. The overlapping pans are bolted to crawler tractor chain and driven by segmented sprockets. Heavy duty spherical type roller bearings support the head and tail whilst the chain and pans are supported by a series of steel support rollers. Due to high shock loadings central impact bars run the length of the feeder to prevent permanent distortion of the pans.
