Variety Bash 2010
ROCKTEC and TEXONSITE
Rocktec CEO Rick Johnson partnered up with TEX Onsite co-owners Ross Gamble (New Zealand) and Mick Kirwan (Australia) as well as John Williamson (TEX Onsite Australia), to enter and participate in the 2010 Variety Bash to support Variety - The Children’s Charity. Together they (The All Wallies) travelled for 10 days, from Christchurch to Auckland along with 50 other teams to raise as much money as possible to donate to Variety.
The All Wallies began the bash with a $25,000 entry donation, raised $9,760 during the course of the bash and donated a further $20,000 at the end. In total 'The All Wallies', with support from many small and large companies, raised a massive $54,760 and claimed the NZ Post Trophy for the Most Money Raised, for the Variety Bash 2010.
Variety - The Childrens Charity
Established in New Zealand in 1989, and known until 1999 as the Variety Club, Variety - The Children's Charity is dedicated to helping sick, disadvantaged and disabled children around the world. In New Zealand more than $11 million has been returned to the community, funding everything from toy libraries to specialist medical equipment,
and through a range of 'Signature Programmes' and financial grants Variety encourages all kiwi children to live
fulfilled and enriched lives - to strive to reach their full potential.
Variety is registered as a not-for-profit organisation which raises all its revenue through public donations and fundraising events. There are now more than 50 Variety offices around the world, all dedicated to bringing sunshine into the lives of needy children. Since then, more than $11 million has been returned to the community, funding everything from toy libraries to specialist medical equipment - helping Kiwi kids reach their full potential.
